TeliaSonera
and Sony use pvNS' streaming software
including FrameTrack
to achieve the highest possible quality
over their GPRS network. The Playlist
feature is also used to allow the
customer to create and modify their
own list of songs. pvNS Playlist works
by commanding the pvServer
to combine audio streams from multiple
sources in sequence and stream to
the client in a single RTSP/RTP session.
Each audio clip can be stored in a
different file. pvServer will automatically
find and access it and begin to stream
the clip seamlessly after the last
file is completed. The customer need
not (and may not even) be aware that
there are multiple audio sources.
StreamMan uses a special pvPlayer
client developed to Sony Net Services'
specifications, which is downloaded
over the air. |

TeliaSonera
launched this music service from
Sony Net Services to both its broadband
internet and mobile customers. With
StreamMan, subscribers can enjoy
a unique musical experience anywhere
and anytime. The service allows
them, for example, to listen only
to their personal favorites or music
of a certain theme or style - and
with no commercials.
StreamMan
is a personalised music service,
which utilizes streaming technology
and enables mobile phone users to
listen to music, create playlists,
listen to news, read about artists
and send messages and playlists
to friends. Sony's StreamMan offers
a wide variety of music from both
large and independent labels through
different channels.
